Welcome to my first ever blog! A little history of who I am and why I created this. I am a member of the same family that Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote about in her Little House on the Prairie series. I am one of the closest living relatives you will find. One of the most remarkable thing Laura did was to document the life of a normal family during an extraordinary time in our nation’s history. She told the story of a family that without her works would have faded into history never to be thought of again. My journey is to continue that legacy, and it has begun with a new book about another generation of the Ingalls family – my parents Gene and Fern Ingalls. Like Laura’s family, my parents lived through another extraordinary time in our nation’s history and managed to do so while raising 8 children. In my blogs I will talk about a variety of items such as the importance of family history, the process I used to write my book, publishing a book, my experience with the promotional aspects of writing, Some insight to both books, my life, and many other topics. I dedicate this blog and my works to my family and the people and families that so often get lost in history. Your stories should be told!
